amy butler inspiration #5

And again!  More dots!  Coordinating with an older print.  I just love it.  This is one of my favorite fabrics.  This fabric from the Belle collection didn't strike me as being much from the little thumbnails I saw in my online fabric shopping.

But when a friend picked it out for her bag I had a chance to work with it and more importantly see it in person (read what I got in exchange!).  This is the bag I made.
One of my favorites, for sure!
The dark blue has a teal-ish quality, while the rest of the print boasts my favorite light blue/turquoise!  It's gorgeous.

Gorgeous enough that I bought a yard, framed it, and hung it on the wall.  Too bad the rest of the mantle doesn't look as good as the fabric.

Friday's the day!  Have you been spending some quality time with your Amy Butler stash?  This is the last inspiration post.  I'm really looking forward to it!   Let me know if you are planning on posting on Friday!

The fabric is beautiful. Love the bags. Your mantel is simply sweet. And painting takes away to much time from quilting especially if you are a busy young mom.

I DO love that fabric. I have a couple of fabrics that I just can't bring myself to use. Partly because I'm just not that good yet, and I don't want to waste it. :)

I am going to TRY and post on Friday...we'll see. :)

Thanks for sharing...absolutely BEAUTIFUL bags!!

Nice swap you made with your friend! The bag is gorgeous in that fabric, and so is your mantle. I'd never thought of framing fabric, but now I can totally imagine which fabric from my stash I would frame. I will be posting on Friday, I have been working on my project all day and it should definitely be finished in time for Friday.

I just finished mine! It's so exciting that I want to post about it right now. I finally made a skirt for my sweet girl. It's probably the easiest thing ever to make, but I never make skirts, so it was a big deal for me. Thanks for the inspiration posts. :)

Totally love the fabric as a bag, but love it even more over the mantel! And love the glimpses of milk glass! We really will have to go to Unique on your next trip to the city!

I just LOVE you framed that AB print! Looks awesome!

Ever the slacker, I finally decided on an AB pattern and cut out my pattern pieces (in AB fabric, OF COURSE!) for Friday's sew & tell. Now a rush to the finish!

Up to my eyeballs in unstitched bits of orange polka dots! But by Friday I hope they will all be put together. That fabric looks great over your mantel. Love it!
